Hi, I’m Raaghav from Erode. I have an iPhone 15 with AppleCare+ that expires in November. My phone’s battery health is at 84%, but I’ve been having issues with fast battery drain and heating, plus there are a few dents on it.
I went to the iPlanet service center, and they told me they’ll only replace the battery if it drops below 80%. Since my AppleCare+ ends in November, I won’t be able to get it replaced after that — and the battery drain issue will still be there. If I want to fix it later, I’d have to pay Apple a huge amount.
So I’m thinking about breaking my iPhone, paying the accidental damage fee of ₹8,900, and getting a replacement.
Do you think that would work?
Hi Raaghav, as the iPhone also have physical damages its good idea to damage little more and claim applecare+. sometimes they accept without further damage. just as it is you can submit it at apple service center to claim new iPhone by paying the fee.
You can check with Palayapalam Planet care service center once and see what can be done now.
Do share your experience after that.
Bro, My only concern is that sometimes service centers deny AppleCare+ claims by saying the damage was intentional. I recently inquired about a battery issue and the replacement process at the same service center where I plan to claim a replacement. I’ve also seen some similar rejection stories on Reddit. What are your thoughts?
Hi bro, If we drop the phone in water and the phone is working fine . Will they still replace new phone with apple care plus or damage needed

There are chances of such rejection when screws damaged bro. otherwise they will accept. we can talk to apple support to get approval if service center reject for no reason.
so do visit the service center and check for battery issue and replacement possibility.
Yes bro. Liquid damage also covered under applecare+. you can verify the same once with apple support or service center.
