hi, going with as latest as possible is always smart idea to use the device for few more years. you may consider iPhone 13 mini atleast as a basic iPhone choice if you prefer mini model. its definitely not a recommended buy in 2026.
Only for basic usage and to keep that handy iPhone like a collectible we can consider it bro. else skipping is recommended idea.

As of now iPhone 12 mini is running on iOS 15.1 version. I am thinking of not upgrading to 26.2 and continue with 15.1. Is that OK?
Its alright sir. thing is, staying with older version is ok if the apps we use are working normally. if whatsapp, youtube and other apps stopped their support, then we have to update iOS. also the UPI payment services require latest iOS version to run normally for security reasons.
So with your current use case if everything works normally, then continue using it. when apps require you to update then you may update later.
