I am currently using an iPhone 16 pro max . When I receive a call on one SIM, the network connection on the other SIM drops completely; if someone tries to call that second SIM, it shows as “not reachable.” Even if I am on a call for an hour, the other SIM remains totally unreachable—I don’t get a call-waiting notification. On Android phones, call waiting works, but why doesn’t it work here? The signal cuts out entirely. Is there a solution for this?
hi bro, the dual sim feature on iPhone designed in a way that when we receive call and one sim activated, the other SIM goes standby mode. this happens with GSM network usage normally. if both sims are using LTE or VoLTE connectivity like Jio, then both sims stay active as per my understanding.
You can enable call waiting on both sims, but the dual standby works this way on iPhone when we have one or both SIMs uses GSM network. Airtel, BSNL and Vodafone sims uses GSM network for calls in many cities and fully not VoLTE enabled.

Actually, bro, I use both Airtel and Jio. Whenever I get a call on one SIM, the network on the other SIM cuts out completely. I have VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling, and roaming all enabled, and call waiting is on too, but the signal just drops entirely.
the another sim goes offline bro. thats the issue here. is the wifi calling status showing on both jio and airtel? when you access control center do you see wifi calling on both networks or just one network? because with wifi calling the sim can stay online. default design is dual sim dual standby mode not dual sim dual active mode.
I have tested and seen wifi calling keeps the other network stay active to receive calls or messages.
