# iphone photos missing after updating

Hello bro..I need some help with an iPhone issue. Today morning I updated my iPhone to iOS 26.6/26.7, and after the update my phone unexpectedly went through the Hello/setup screen. After setting it up, I found that my photos were gone. Only the photos that were in my 5 GB iCloud backup came back; the other photos were stored only on my iPhone and weren’t backed up and still its 26.5 and i dont know what to do next..can i update again 27 or not? i also visited apple service but they dont support much.they ask me to put a token for service thats it. i also contact other authorised service but they also said its mostly not possible because its iphone so security is more controled

I really want to recover those photos. Is there any possible way to get them back, maybe through Apple or professional data recovery? Do you know someone who can properly check whether the deleted data is still recoverable?

hello sis, did you update the phone using computer or just via wifi and updated it from settings - general - software update?

sadly, due to disk encryption the photos, videos we have on the disk cannot be recovered if the iOS formatted using computer or deleted permanently. Only the data we took backup in cloud storage can be available.

I have updated my another device and many area staying in iOS 26 versions and updated to latest version. so far no similar reports received sis. so this is really strange to see such data deletion happening for iOS update. kindly confirm whether you updated using computer or just within iPhone?
