Yes bro. that should be perfect fit. I havent used citrix workspace so far, but it does handle other resource intensive tasks very well. you will be surprised with the overall performance for sure after using it.
as its an expensive purchase, if possible do experience macbook base model once at apple showroom. try opening some good number of tabs with different websites and see how it handles. 
For your work I think it will be overkill. but still for long term it will be best.
HDR does affect mac color calibration. so I kept mine OFF as suggested in my LG monitor review video.
