17 pro vs 18 pro - Purchase Dilemma

I am an Android user and planning to switch to Apple and have planned to buy the PRO version of the iphone.

But I got stuck in a confusion that: should i buy 17 pro or wait for 18 pro?

By the way , my primary requirements are:

  1. Great media consumption ( Video and audio )
  2. Great or atleast very good battery life with moderate to heavy usage for full day with fast charging ( need to charge the phone quickly before going to office )
  3. On device AI features extensive usage ( so, extensive support of various AI features are expected )
  4. Very good cameras
  5. Looong term use ( atleast 4 years ) with good battery health and software support

This confusion is because of the pricing. What will be the gap of pricing between 17 pro and 18 pro with the rumoured price increase for both models? will that gap be justifiable?

What is the current status of the rumoured Indian pricing of 18 pro? Similarly, what will be the price of 17 pro after price increase ? will 17 pro be available for sales in big billion days / great indian festival at a cheaper price?

my max price bracket is : 1.5 Lakh Rs . ( even with price hike )

What do you say : shall i wait for 18 pro (or) buy 17 pro in freedom sale (or) wait & buy 17 pro in big billion/great indian festival sale? which decision will be more justifiable for the price?

hi bro, iPhone 17 Pro is a good choice to consider during BBD offers. expected around 1 to 1.1 lac price range during this offer period. 18 pro expected to see 20K atleast price increase. 18 pro expected to come with 20 to 30% increase in overall hardware upgrade. camera will see some improvements too.

2.5 years to 3 years once we have to change battery when it reaches 80% level.

both models will be very capable for next 4 years bro. your budget may be good to go with iPhone 18 Pro, but only if you want to save some money, then you may consider 17 pro during BBD Offer period.

only if budget isnt a problem then you may choose 18 pro model when released by end of september bro. let me know if you have any specific questions.

We are expecting some improvements to the Telephone lens and minor improvements to white lens in 18 Pro model, so it depends bro like if you are focussed on getting the best camera available on the iPhone model, then waiting and spending the extra thousand on iPhone 18 Pro will be worth. It all depends on when we need it and whether the 20 K expenses, not a big deal for us.

I mean, the budget. So make a simple decision based on these two points and whether it is 17 Pro or 18 Pro, you will be happy and remember both models are meant for normal usage and if there is any heavy usage in some days, we need to charge the phone around four or 5 PM.

Have you experienced to the 17 Pro showroom ones or with any of your friends?

Yes, I have experienced the 17 pro in the showrooms. It is good while holding and using it.
Its just that i am skeptical to choose one. I thought the new A20 pro chip have better battery efficiency, thus leading to a greater battery life. But like you say, it seems there is no good difference there bro

even though upcoming a20 pro chip will have better battery efficiency, the battery mAh will still focus on 1 day usage bro. for heavy usage conditions we have to charge atleast twice a day. pro max model will be placed as 1.5 days usage due to its bigger battery mAh normally.

for less usage pro max even comes for 2 days backup bro.
