go to appstore and update all the apps if there is any pending software update to be done. that will help too.

When you press update in appstore is it rotating and coming back to update section bro?

normally restarting iPhone helps to fix the issue. you can try to signout apple id from appstore section and restart iPhone once. then sign in again and try updating the apps.
