Booting off the Mac from External SSD vs installing Apps on External

I have brought a new Sandisk SSD for my MacBook Pro 2015. I will use only a logicpro, so which one should I need to choose booting MacBook off from SSD or installing only the application on SSD

hi bro, for audio and video processing purposes we should keep the OS and Apps on primary storage for faster access. Only the files we use can be stored in SSD externally that has good read, write speed. When connected with USB C port, the app will be able to perform without crash.
