Cellular models iPad is it esim supported?

Don’t want to have separate sim for iPad. What’s the best option for cellular iPads. Near future we can except anything like this if we don’t have now. And how is AirTel postpaid working in  WATCH. Do you face any issues.

I havent personally seen anyone using eSIM on their iPad so far bro. These are the following compatible eSIM models which apple india website mentions,

  • iPad mini (5th generation and later)
  • iPad (7th generation and later)
  • iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (all generations)
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)

But I still doubt the support in India. So kindly visit apple showroom once and before buying iPad confirm whether eSIM support is available or not. If I know further update regarding this, I will share the info here.

Airtel Network limits their eSIM support for Apple Watch only to their Postpaid connection. So more users will move from prepaid to postpaid.

Can you clarify if the SIM can be utilized in an iPad the same way it is in a watch? This is important to know as I want to use the same data plan for mobile. Jio permits eSIMs per number, so if I own an iPad, is it possible to use the same data plan from my Jio number?

No bro. the SIM card in iPad can be used only for Data purposes. its not possible to make or receive calls using the sim card present on iPad. My friend using iPad Pro got separate number registered for iPad and using internet during roaming.

Hi, it is still not possible to make and receive call on ipad cellular model, kindly please confirm

hello bro, we cannot use the SIM card present in iPad to make and receive calls. only if we have iPhone nearby, then we can make and receive calls using iPhone SIM number. SIM or eSIM on iPad is only for Data usage. Thats the main reason whatsapp is still not made available to iPads. as it requires SIM service to work.
