Higher the spec if budget allows is always good idea bro. also kindly include applecare+ with macbook pros to get complete peace of mind for 3 years from the date of purchase.

RAM 18GB is very much sufficient. But if you are planning to work on heavy projects, and use external monitor at desk setup at times, then higher RAM is always good idea. You may be required to upgrade after 5 years around usage normally bro. so according to your project requirement plan the CPU, GPU and RAM specs.

for most users 11 core cpu model itself sufficient bro.
