A relative of mine found an iPhone on the street. He attempted to unlock it, but after multiple failed attempts, the phone displayed “iPhone Unavailable.” When it was brought to me, I noticed there was no signal, the Control Center was disabled, and I couldn’t turn on Bluetooth or WiFi. It didn’t appear to be in Lost Mode, so I decided to keep the phone powered on for a week to see if anything happened, but nothing did.
Eventually, I restored the phone, and after doing so, I was able to connect it to WiFi. This happened about a week ago. I understand that the owner could potentially locate the phone using “Find My,” but no one has contacted me so far.
Is there any way to find the original owner of this iPhone?
hi bro, give some more time. like 2 to 3 weeks time. if they come to know about an option to put the device on lost mode, when the phone is connected to wifi it can receive the info from icloud servers.
else visiting any nearest apple authorised service center and following up with them to track the original phone owner could help in that case too.
you can talk to apple support once to register it as a complaint and receive support ticket id. then visiting service center and checking with apple support to know the status of whether it reached the owner or not could help too.
Even service center or apple support cannot access device information remotely or the apple id details inside the device. but still as a last option you may try that option bro.
