iPad Air M2 keyboard click sound and lock sound are dull

Last year I bought an iPad Air M2 11 inch wifi base model with Apple care plus in back to school offer campaign bro, recently I noticed my iPad’s keyboard click sound and lock sound to be dull and only can be heard when I bring the iPad close to ears, I increased the ringtone and alerts sound to maximum but it’s still the same.

I contacted apple support and a technical expert helped me with all troubleshooting and ran all diagnostics and told me that the system is in normal and good condition. After discussing with senior expert, the technical expert told me it is a normal and expected behaviour and Apple has acknowledged the same, so not to worry and added that it is not specific to my device.

Finally suggested me to share apple product feedback in the feedback site and I did the same. I also asked the expert will this issue be fixed in the new OS release, expert said I can’t assure you but if Apple feels it to be addressed then it will be fixed.

Bro is this issue universal and common and not to worry, will it be fixed in the iPadOS 26. Your thoughts bro.

hi bro, I havent personally noticed such issue with iPad Pro M2 model I had and sold recently. it was working normal in my case. you can try iPadOS Restore once and check if there is any difference. that also helps sometimes.

If the issue continues then we can update with iPadOS 26 by the end of september and check bro. also there is no dusts clogged around speaker grills correct?

Yes bro speaker grills clear ah irukku and I forgot to mention that audio is normal, only this keyboard click sound and lock sound are very low. Bro, neenga iPad use panrappo keyboard click sound nalla audible ah irukkuma and lock sound also.

with my iPad Pro M2 I didnt notice any difference in keyboard clicks or audio in general bro. I use it for gaming and video playback sometimes, and it was perfect. now moved to M4 iPad Pro recently.

But the reason for low audio is mostly dusts clogging the speaker grills. but if its software issue then doing all settings reset helps to fix it.

Can you try within iPad, go to settings - general - transfer or reset - reset all settings once and check how it works overall?
