My 3 months old iPhone 13 (green), Color chipping near lightning port without any accidental drop or scratch.
Hi bro, Paint chipping is a known issue in iPhone and Apple watch. Due to aluminium body and painting don’t stay much on the surface for long duration. Over period of months we will see such issue due to environmental reasons too. Like under different temperatures and when any metal contact happens like keychains or other metals on the iPhone corners, we see such paint chipping problem.
It is normal and the best we can do is wearing a proper case to not let it increase or look more damaged.
When we connect charger, the pin touches the sides and that is another reason for us to see the iPhone paint chipping problem mostly around charging port area initially.
It happens mostly around the power button, volume rocker button area due to the cutout design and painting.
