I’m using 14 pro max, i was using iOS 18.1beta and faced more battery drain and heating issue…. So i installed the iOS 18 stable using iTunes - complete package update… it was good for 2 or 3 days then again i’m facing battery drain and more heating issue… now I’m getting avg. screen on time is 5hours… i was charging my phone 2 days once now I’m charging 2 times a day… Battery health is 90% now… ( Bought last year June) Any suggestions and options from your end? Need to backup and erase everything? And install the complete package update? I have authenticators, imp data, banking apps etc… and few things i can’t setup again… which is why i didn’t do factory reset…
Note: Also I’m using MacBook Air M2 & Apple Watch Series 8 with the same account which always connected with my Phone.
And I’ll be getting the mobile notifications in Mac and will be using the Screen mirroring feature at sometimes… Not sure, this will be affecting the battery and making the device more hot.
hi bro, does the overheating happens specifically during any app usage? something like facetime or whatsapp video audio calls? or while charging?
screen mirroring usage does consume certain amount of battery for with pro max model you wont notice big difference.
Network conditions one main reason too. if we use internet in low signal coverage area, then battery drain and heating is normal based on what apps we use bro. kindly let me know.
After reporting this issue in forum, i also checked checked the battery and screen time section deeply… and i observed Im using more YouTube and instagram…
Also I’m a email user, and i could see the default app background activity is more… so i removed all the email configs from the default email app…
The heating issue is more significantly happening while im charging device especially in non ac rooms… my phone wont charge more than 80% and stuck at 80 only with heating alert… in A C room no issues…
If im using outside Im feeling more warm and heating…
Is there another way to use youtube and instagram to use with less battery consumption??
Video streaming apps does consume more power bro. especially in mobile data with 2 or 3 signal coverage. from the above graph background activity is there but it didnt consume much battery power. you can keep background app refresh feature OFF.
graph looks healthy and no issues spotted.
apple released iOS 18.1 beta 6 yesterday, update it and chances of more bug fixes there.
instagram, facebook and youtube apps are known to consume more power bro. but we cannot completely avoid social media apps. we may use it in safari browser but user experience is bad in safari compared to actual app.
if some days you have more usage then 1 day backup will come. by the end of the day we have to charge. othertimes it will last bit more. thats the objective.
