Hi sis, if your relative or friend bringing just one unit or two devices with them then its fine. customs is quite strict these days. they are checking gadgets travellers are bringing recently. especially iPhones as you may see in news too.

So if its one or two device in luggage or carrying with them open box units, it should be fine. kindly check with your friend there and plan accordingly.
