Hi @iRobinPro bro,
I have seen your today’s video about the iPhone live voice mail feature. Thanks for all your informative videos.
I have been testing the feature for past two days. I have noticed that even if I have clicked on the decline button the call is being forwarded to voicemail.
When Low power mode is OFF
The live voice mail is put into auto mode and it forwards all the calls to voicemail after few rings.
There is no option to decline the call even when the phone is in our hands though there is a decline button displayed on the screen.
When I click on the decline button, the call is being forwarded to live voicemail. I have also tried using the power button to decline the call and that too forwards the call to voicemail.
If it’s not a bug and thats how it’s going to work, then its good to remove the Decline button while displaying the voicemail button when auto live voicemail is ON. There is no need of two buttons for same functionality. Both decline and voicemail button forwards the calls to voicemail.
As of now, the call/voicemail can be ended only in below cases while we have auto live voice mail turned ON:
- the person on the other end has to end the call.
- iPhone will automatically end the live voicemail in 2 minutes.
- Accept the call and immediately End the call.
- It automatically ends when we attend a call in second line. (Same carrier, different carrier, WhatsApp). Live Voicemail will not work when we are already in a call in second line though it shows the voicemail button it declines the call when we try to use voicemail.
When Low power Mode is ON
-
The Auto live voice mail is OFF and live voice mail is put into a manual mode where it doesn’t forward the calls automatically to voicemail. But we can forward the call to voice mail manually using the voicemail button in the incoming call screen whenever required.(While Driving, Office meetings, teams call, etc.,)
-
We are able to decline the calls now. Decline button and voicemail button are working as expected. We are getting full rings. So, we get more time to Accept, Voicemail or Decline.
Basically, in my case the manual voicemail in low power mode is better than auto voicemail in the normal power mode.
Live voicemail is a good feature. It will be more convenient to use if the below options are be added in the future.
-
Option to manually toggle between auto and manual voicemail modes. (currently auto mode is on by default when low power mode is OFF and auto mode is off by default when low power mode is ON)
-
Option to decline a call without forwarding it to voicemail even when the auto live voice mail is ON.
-
Option to enable auto voice mail only for our contacts list or few selected contacts only.
Expecting your thoughts.
