hi bro, base or pro model both are meant for different use cases. base model is sufficient for most users every day mobile usage. any phone we buy has battery health time duration of 2.5 to 3 years maximum based on our usage. we change battery and use it for another 2.5 to 3 years again. so 5 years is the maximum time where software support generally stopped and we have to upgrade our mobile to use the latest tech available by that time. you may go with iPhone 16 or 17 right now if you decided to go with iOS and apple eco system.
8 and more years I doubt. even though software support stopped, we can continue using the device, that shouldnt be a problem but hardware ageing will be visible after this 5 years time.
Regardless of whether it’s a pro or not most of things that he have mentioned applies for most of the mobile phones in general. Maybe for years it’d be good but it’s a maybe because we don’t know when electrical device fails. some after the update or some coz of drop or some coz of heat or some coz of wear and tear. There are high chances of mother board failure after 5+ years so according to your usage If u want a high refresh rate screen, balanced battery life and a good camera system then go with base iphone 17 that would do. or else go with iphone 16 if u don’t want that high refresh rate.
