Issue with Automatic Deletion of OTP

I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I’ve encountered with my iPhone 13 running iOS 17.3. Recently, I’ve noticed that OTP (One-Time Password) messages are unable to delete automatically.

Upon receiving an OTP message, it briefly appears in my message box. However, upon opening the message, the message is moved to the bin. After closing the messaging application and reopening it, the OTP messages are still visible.

This inconsistency poses a security concern, and I kindly request your assistance in investigating and resolving this issue promptly. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Now update 17.3.1 still I’m facing this issue.

Hi bro, I was not using the auto delete OTP feature till date. Going to enable to see whether same issue happens or not. Need at least two days time to test it. meanwhile can you share Password Options screenshot here? Just to have a look at the setting.

Its correctly configured. I received an OTP and used autofill to enter. And I can see the OTP message auto deleted from the messages app. its working fine at my device bro. So I think issue you are experiencing could be temporary. Do perform “settings - general - reset - reset all settings” once.

Then restart iPhone once and check with next OTP whether its automatically deleted or not. Let me know if that helps or not bro. If already tried this all settings reset, kindly let me know.

Now rest panni try pannita but still not resolved.

Will check at my side whether this can be recreated bro. Need some more time. meanwhile you can keep the settings of auto deleting OTP ON. continue using it and give some time to receive iOS 17.4 update. we may see some fix mostly with upcoming update.

do share the issue detail here at apple website. that helps too.

Ok and thanks for your support.
FYI i already so many times submitted in Apple website.

ok bro. can were try couple of more troubleshooting steps? If you are ready do perform logging out of apple id completely from your device after turning off find my service. Then restart iPhone once, and signin again with your apple id. then check whether the same feature is working or not.

Ok i will try and confirm.
