Life time of Apple tv remote 3rd gen
I still have apple tv 2nd or 3rd gen and the remote is still working. I charge it using a lightning cable for few minutes and keep using it for several weeks. I am sure it will work for several years and only thing we have to be careful about is physical damages or water spills.
Otherwise, it should be fine.
