Check settings - general - background app refresh and turn it off for whatsapp bro. this will restrict whatsapp from using background resources. that will help.

Hi bro here is the 24 hr battery stats , For some reason I feel battery backup is better after the 18.2.1 , May be just a coincidence on a single day
