If you prefer laptop, then macbook air m2 model with 512GB storage will be suitable for your budget. many programmers are using it for their development works.
If you prefer desktop setup, then iMac 24 inch can be considered. I am expecting apple may refresh it with M2 processor soon. If its urgent, you may may consider current one with 512GB Storage.
For any model, upgrading RAM will add more cost to it, but getting 16GB RAM is more future proofing your purchase. Only if your development apps need more resources and memory, then consider upgrading it to 16GB RAM. 8GB wont be good idea for long term.
Macbook Pro 13 inch also there as a good alternative to macbook air. Whichever model you choose with M2 processor, go with 512GB and 16GB RAM for long run.
